Michigan Smoking Ban
Michigan Senate today approved a bill that would make the 38th state to ban smoking in public places (FINALLY!). The ban, will be in effect in May 2010, would apply to all restaurants and bars.
All the bill needs is to be passed by the State House and also signed by Governor Jennifer Granholm (we think she will sign it) oh and they all support the ban.
Not a lot of people agree with the ban, including friends who smoke.
I grew up in Michigan ,I remember when Clinton made laws to ban smoking in places. That was in 1994 and I was happy. My dad smoked, my mom smoked. I didn't. I was only 14 years old! Actually I didn't try a ciggy until I was 24 years old and I lived in England. True story. I never lit up a ciggy, tried it three times and HATED it. So glad I am not addicted to ciggy's. They are bad for your lungs, oh and 2nd hand smoke is even worse.
